The jewellery workshop on the north side of Lima in Peru where the silver cuff links are made is a real family business. When Fermin was young, he decided to continue the old family tradition. From his father he learned the art of enamelling, and when he was 18 he founded his own workshop where he now employs 8 people on a permanent basis.
On the wall Fermin has written the old Inca-law: ‘Ama sua, Ama Llulla, Ama Quella’: Do not steal, Do not lie, Do not be lazy. And, just like the Incas, he commits himself to ensuring that none of his people suffer from hunger, something in which he succeeds, partly thanks to tuyu.
