The soapstone products of tuyu are made in Agra, in Moon´s workshop. The rough stones come from Rajastan and Uttar Pradesh, and are cut to size in the workshop. Next, the products are made to the designs of tuyu, and then sanded, washed and polished. The workshop has grown from 15 to 60 workers, and that is not surprising because wages are high, and working conditions are better than in comparable workshops: a modern dust extraction system for the stone dust and free medical care. Futhermore the producer is deeply committed to fair trade.
